Chocolates galore!

Tampa is having some sort of chocolate renaissance. In the last month, I have talked to the owners of at least 5 chocolate shops that are either opening right now, or within the last year, or are expanding their business, opening storefronts, etc. The best part? Most of them are specializing in dark chocolates and leaving out the horrifying staples of the confection industry, corn syrup and hydrogenated oils! Some of these shops have asked about insurance through All County, and others I have just talked to and left alone about insurance. Below are two that I am very impressed with… others I might compile a list of, later.

Choxotica - This is a storefront in Tampa that will be offering many exciting new products. I will let their web site tell the story.

Victoria Richards Chocolates -  An online business that has been around for a few years. The owners are incredibly nice and are actually sending me a sample of their chocolate! They like natural ingredients and leave out the hydrogenated oil.

Anyway, my point is not to compile a complete list here, but it is interesting that there are so many local chocolate businesses. I hope the choco-health craze will support them - I certainly rely on chocolate to keep the blood pumping during workout sprees. And of course, it is chocolate, so it is good.
