Jason with Business Explosion!

Today I got to talk, briefly, to a nice young fellow named Jason (probably not a reader, but "hi Jason" if you're out there).

Jason's company was not really called Business Explosion, but it was something similar to that.  I can't really remember the exact name.  Here is a transcript of the call:

Jason: "Hi this is Jason with Business Explosion!"

RAB: "Business Explosion!"  (I like to sound enthusiastic when people call, so I sometimes echo what sound like important words.  Since I was obviously supposed to be impressed with the name "Business Explosion," I repeated it with zeal).

Jason: "Um, yes" (off balance already… this is not a real pro… poor guy) "Mumble, mumble, we sell insurance leads and wanted to offer our mumble mumble…"

[a pause of approximately five seconds]

RAB: "I'm glad you called! One of our best markets is insurance for insurance lead providers.  Let me start a quote for you now!"

Jason: "Umm, ok…"

[in the background: "can we do that... do we want a quote for insurance?"]

Jason: "Actually, I was calling to offer–"

Rab: "Oh you want to sell me insurance leads." (Jason: "Yes") "We don't need any insurance leads.  Have a great day, Jason."

[Finite]

Ok, so this was not one of my best countersales; but it was an amusing addition to a day filled with solicitors and other creatures from the murky abyss.  Do remember to stop and enjoy the next solicitor who calls your office.
